For your annotated bib make sure it looks exactly like what your reference page will end up looking like. The only difference is that underneath each citation there should be a summary of the article/book along with a sentence or two about how you are going to use it in the paper.
Make sure the page is entitled references and is 12 pt TNR. For your annotated sources: take your annotated bib and delete the summaries. Remember that I need all these steps printed out and turned in with the final paper. Here's what I want your formal outline to look like:
I. Intro (Write out briefly what your intro paragraph will look like and your claim) II. Body A. Claim (Write out your claim for the first body paragraph) B. Evidence (Type out the whole quote you are using and cite it correctly (Author, Date of publication)) C. Interpretation (briefly type what you will put for this (Remember two of your body paragraph need two pieces of evidence) III. Body paragraph 2 A. C B. E C. I (Remember two of your body paragraph need two pieces of evidence) IV. Body paragraph A. C B. E C. I (Remember two of your body paragraph need two pieces of evidence) V. Conclusion paragraph Yesterday we began our research paper process. Students were given a blue handout with 6 potential topics they can write on.
For the brainstorm section, students must write two arguments for each side of every topic. A potential claim for Topic A could be: Humans have an obligation to take care of the world because it is the only one they have been given and it depends on human life to be properly maintained. Notice how I did NOT use personal pronouns. Just like with your last paper I do not want to see personal pronouns at all! |
